Links to Literature on the Web

This list has been adapted from a similar list at Auburn University.

Readers are referred to resources listed on the CCC News & Weather Page, which contains an extensive collection of online newspapers, journals, etc., as well as the CCC English Academic Weblist, especially the "Voice of the Shuttle," "Jeff's English Project," the "written word" section of "Universal Black Pages," and other links listed there.

The libraries at the University of Houston maintain a list of Scholarly Journals on the World Wide Web. Most of these journals have recent issues on the web; some have extensive archives as well. We also recommend that you visit the various "magazones" -- in business, arts, and science -- maintained by the The Electronic Newstand.

Highwire Press, offers users online access to the following journals: Journal of Clinical Investigation (from July 1st 1995 to present), Journal of Neuroscience (from May 1st 1996 to present), Science Magazine (from June 30th 1995 to present), and Journal of Biological Chemistry (from January 6th 1995 to present)

Most of these resources are free; however, some of them require a registration. Some of them have a fee for some of their resources. For instance, the online version of The New York Times is largely free, although one must go through a one-time registration process to get a password. To get access to the full-text archives of the NYT, however, will require a monthly fee.
