An Overview of the Whole Sentence: Writing
On scrap paper, jot down ideas about how it feels to write. Here are some questions that may start you thinking:
You may answer some of these questions, or simply write down any thoughts that come into your head when you consider how the act of writing affects you. Turn those jottings into four or five sentences, and then rewrite them. For your rewritten paragraph, use pen and paper, a word processor, or your class's online writing space.
- How tightly are you holding your pen or pencil?
- How do your shoulders feel?
- What do you think about when you face the blank page?
- How is writing different from talking?
