Associate in Science Degree Program
Paramedic Studies
The Associate in Science Degree in Paramedic Studies is designed as an extension to the EMT-Paramedic Certificate program. Graduates of this program will be prepared to assume management-level careers in pre-hospital health administration. They will have learned the skills necessary to plan, implement and manage pre-hospital care.
Career opportunities available for graduates of this program include employment as supervisors or managers of emergency medical services and as educational coordinators.
Students requesting that CCC accept credits from other colleges for science courses are advised that a time limitation may apply.
| Learning Outcomes |

Upon successful completion of the EMT-Paramedic program, the student will demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply, and evaluate theoretical information relevant to his/her role of a patient care provider in the field of pre-hospital emergency care as an EMT-Paramedic. The student will:
- Demonstrate basic competence in understanding theory of disease process and it's correlation to patient care
- Achieve a passing score on the National Registry written and practical exam results
- Demonstrate writing proficiency within a comprehensive patient
research project
- Demonstrate proficiency in administering patient care during hospital and pre-hospital clinical experiences
- Understand the role and responsibility of the paramedic
