| 1. Apply for Admission |
| All new students must submit an admissions application along with a one-time, non-refundable $20 application fee. You can apply online or download an application All applications must be received and complete before the deadline in accordance to the desired semester.
Degree and certificate seeking students will need to provide a high school transcript, diploma or GED, and proof of immunization for measles/reubella. Other restrictions and requirements may also apply.

| 2. Apply for Financial Aid |
|
All new and returning students are encouraged to apply for financial aid in a timely fashion. Capital Community College provides a variety of financial aid programs in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and jobs to eligible students. The amount and type of aid received is dependent upon the student’s financial need as well as annual federal and state allocations.

| 3. Take a Placement Test |
To assure that all new students are adequately prepared for college-level courses, basic skills placement tests must be taken prior to registration. Students whose native language is other than English must take an ESL (English-as-a-Second Language) test. The results of these tests are used by the college staff to place students into appropriate courses.

| 4. Meet with a Faculty Advisor or Counselor |
|
Counseling services are designed to be an integral part of students’ total educational program. Upon acceptance, all new students must meet with a counselor to discuss academic and career goals and plan their first semester’s course work. Returning students are also encouraged to meet with a counselor to review their progress and plan their course work.

| 5. Register for Classes |
Class registration is typically performed over the Internet using MyCommnet - the Connecticut Community Colleges' Self-Service Student Information System. Using MyCommnet, students can search the course schedules, register for classes and make payments.
You can also register for classes on campus by visiting our Enrollment Services department.

| 6. Pay All Fees |
All fees must be paid and/or your Financial Aid award must be in place within 24 hours of registering for classes.

| 7. Come to Orientation |
Orientation is offered to all new students to provide information about the college. During orientation, students attend various workshops and learn about course textbooks, student ID's, parking, bus passes and more. Come ask questions, get a tour and get FOOD!
