A Message To Alumni

Did you know that since its birth in 1967 as Greater Hartford Community College, Capital Community College (CCC) has served a generation of students like you and me? The same can be said for Hartford State Technical College, which merged with CCC in 1992. Its roots date to 1946 when the Connecticut Engineering Institute opened. Whether you took classes at Hartford State, Greater Hartford or at CCC under its old or new names, we'd like to hear from you.

Why?

You are a powerful resource for the college and its students both today and in the future
. Thousands of people like you and me have used associate degrees to improve our lives and build a brighter future. Whether you went on to earn a higher degree, get a better job, or enrich your life, you are living proof of education's power!

You Can Make a Difference
Did you have a family member, a friend, professor or counselor who helped you succeed in your education? Did someone touch your life in a special way that encouraged, supported or spurred you to stay in school or achieve your goals?

Here's How You Can Help
Today more than 3,600 students are pursuing the same goals, and you are critical to their success.
By working together, we can:

  • Help strengthen our programs by volunteering on a committee
  • Recognize and honor other graduates who have succeeded in their careers
  • Mentor current students by serving as role models and advisors
  • Increase awareness and financial support for the college in Greater Hartford
  • Share ideas to strengthen educational and cultural activities at our new downtown campus.

We'd Like to Hear from You
Whether you're ready to get involved now, or sometime in the future, I hope you'll complete and return the enclosed alumni association membership form.

It's the first step in reconnecting with graduates, students and changing lives. You'll receive updates on activities, news and programs of interest to keep you informed. We look forward to hearing from you.
